M Brilliant At Huntington's Calderwood Pavilion Theatre
Creative Take On Fritz Lang's Film Noir Classic
By: - Apr 10th, 2013Wonderfully conceived and stylistically creative, the world premiere of Ryan Landry's "M" is a unique theatrical event. Light and shadow, comedy and drama and silliness and seriousness are blended together in a surrealistic and at times totally quite poignant adaptation of uberdirector Fritz Lang's masterpiece "M." We are compelled to watch with both amused wonder and horror as Landry brings his unique imagination to a new adaptation of this dark film noir 1931 classic. This is theatre of the absurd with a point. It is a gothic visual and verbal journey that is dreamlike but unconditionally entertaining.

Dead Accounts By Theresa Rebeck Theatre
Show Me the Money
By: - Dec 14th, 2012With her third Broadway production, Dead Accounts, Theresa Rebeck is running on vapors. Perhaps this half backed, ersatz sit-com is a part of the collateral damage of last season's struggles with the brilliant but embattled TV series Smash. She has departed from the show which she originated. Whatever the reason this new play entirely lacks focus. It is little more than a one liner and gag stretched out in two miserable acts. It does however have the star power of Tony winner Norbert Leo Butz and tabloid regular Katie Holmes to sell tickets.

Brilliant The Luck of the Irish At Huntington Theatre
A Compelling Boston Story Extended to May 6
By: - Apr 10th, 2012This is the World Premiere of a play about the tricky process of breaking the rules of segregated house ownership by means of a ghost or straw buyer . When an upwardly mobile African-American family wanted to buy a house in an all-white neighborhood of 1950s Boston, they often paid a struggling Irish family to act as their front. Fifty years later, the Irish family asks for "their" house back. Moving back and forth across the two eras, this intimate new play explores the complex impact of racial integration in Boston, the notion of benevolent fraud and the universal longing for property, house and home. Do not miss this wonderfully crafted play!
