Stowe Storm

Wipeout

By: - Dec 22, 2017

Stowe Storm

Started slow in the AM
Wipeout by noon
Inch by inch all day
Great for the slopes
Week before Christmas
When Stowe gets slammed
Hunkered down
I Pad, books and Netflix
Kindah cabin feverish
Last day away
Moonlight in Vermont
Tea and snacks snowbound
No fancy dinner tonight
Out on Mountian Road
With so many options
Pensioners on holiday
Snap happy snuggled bunnies
Having the time of our lives
Iconic winter wonderland
Quaint New England village
Dressed for the Holidays
Bright light of twinkling cheer
Has its ambivalence
Listening now to Astrid
Cracking pistachio nuts
Hardly chestnuts by a roaring fire
Here today but gone tomorrow
Remembering spectacular yesterday
On magnificent Mt. Mansfield
Such towering wonder
Trees painted white
Nature’s canvas a luminist landscape
Our time so sublime
Slipping into quotidian
Said the comedian
Such fools we mortals be
Take two he said
With sardonic mirth
One makes you tall the other small
Better red than dead
On the whole better in Philadphia
If you catch my snow drift
Plowing through metaphors
Before and after
