Blue Heron Gallery Online, a virtual art gallery, will be presenting the work of schiffernolandstudio, a Peggy Schiffer and Sam Noland collaborative, beginning Tuesday, September 14, 2021, and running through October 14, 2021.  The exhibition, appearing on www.blueherongallery.online, will feature 13 works in a unique presentation of digital art, as well as a brief bio and back story.

In both the abstract works and the real-life works, digital images are created and joined in series.  In the case of the abstract work, paintings are created on glass and photographed; the paintings are then washed off and the glass is reused.  The digital image becomes the art.  In the case of the other photographs, they are presented in a way that tells a story.  For instance, the Real World Series presents a rudbeckia (black-eyed Susan) in its various stages of opening.

The show includes a mix of abstract and pure photographic works, each pulled from a particular series.  Each piece will be available for purchase directly from the show online, and pieces purchased will be protectively wrapped and shipped to the buyers at the show’s conclusion.

The gallery is the creation and work of Michael McGrath, a former web designer and developer who earned Webby Award recognition for work in 2005.

A recent transplant to North Adams by way of a small Daoist temple in central China, he saw an opportunity to serve the rich artist community in the northern Berkshires by offering an outlet for their work.  Sticks-and-bricks galleries were shut down by Covid-19 and quarantine, artists had no outlet for their work, and the need for a safe yet full venue arose.

The virtual gallery’s early shows were successful during their thirty days each and saw visitor traffic from 38 states in the US, and 29 countries from all over the world, averaging 100+ people per day viewing their art.  Sales have been generated from the Gallery’s shows both within Massachusetts and to collectors in other states.

Gallery shows are presently booked through October of 2021, and news of future shows is regularly updated on the gallery website www.blueherongallery.online

McGrath also offers support services to artists through the gallery, including website design and development, and early in the year launched a new website that was developed for first show artist Galen Cheney - www.galencheney.com.  A new website for second show artist Peter McGrath was recently launched - www.petermcgrathstudio.com

He also developed a new website for www.giulianobooks.com launched on September 12, and is nearing completion of a new website for schiffernolandstudio, the featured artist in the current show.
