The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, based on the novel of the same title by Mark Haddon and adapted by Simon Stephens, opens with Christopher, fifteen years old, standing beside Mrs. Shears’s dead dog, Wellington, at seven minutes after midnight. The dog has been speared with a garden fork, and Christopher is under suspicion. Christopher has an extraordinary brain and is exceptional at math, yet he is ill equipped to interpret everyday life. He has never ventured alone beyond the end of the road where he lives, he detests being touched, and he distrusts strangers. But his detective work, undertaken over the objections of his father, takes him on a frightening journey that upturns his world.

Now in its fourth season, NT Live delivers the best of British theater to cinemas around the world. Stage performances are captured live in front of an audience at London’s National Theatre and its collaborating companies. The shows are then broadcast live in high definition across Europe and America.
