Family gathering
Nugents of Rockport
Second cousin Susan
When we were kids
Pushed her in the fish pond
Through a window
Watched her get spanked
Boys are such bullies
Talking with her husband
Real nice guy
Asked what I do
An artist I answered
With arrogant flair
Don’t make much money
Better than selling insurance
There was a dramatic pause
I sell insurance
He said measured and firmly
And I like it
