Four of us flat on a rock
overlooking Vernon’s
sunshine bikinis chihuahuas
after a ten minute amble
along a woody rocky path
lady slippers slyly on the back path
to Barker Ave blocked by rocks
in two places but you can get through
maybe with a bloody toe
maybe not if you have a bicycle

girls swim
grandma looks
through trees for grandson
and friends checks the rope
is still there boys swinging
over the water to drop
