Clark Gallery presents Robert S. Neuman: Selected Works from 1950-1979. This retrospective chronicles Neuman’s most formative decades as an artist, as unabashedly bold color and the human experience became the cornerstones of his artistic practice. Anchored by some of Neuman’s first serious explorations of abstraction, including Angry Dog (1950), the exhibition also includes works from his Pedazos del Mundo, Mirage, and Voyage series.

This exhibition is part of the Robert S. Neuman: Centennial Project, a series of exhibitions at eight venues, including Bowdoin Museum of Art in Brunswick, ME; Art Complex Museum in Duxbury, MA; Bates College Museum of Art in Lewiston, ME and others, celebrating the artist’s life and prolific six-decade career defined by constant experimentation and fierce individuality. Through exhibitions, public programs, and new scholarship, this year-long celebration invites audiences to rediscover Neuman’s boundless creativity. Join us to celebrate an artist whose curiosity and imagination continue to inspire new generations of viewers and makers. To learn more visit: https://robertsneuman.com/
