The largest free showcase of Louisiana music, culture and food in the world kicks off its 35th year this Thursday and ends on Sunday evening.
Dozens of stages are located throughout the historic French Quarter. Over 300 acts are scheduled to perform. The line-up is stellar and includes local favorites, Dejuan's Olympia Brass Bandmaster, who kick off the entertainment, followed during the course of the festival by Irma Thomas, Cyril Neville, the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, the Zydeco Hellraisers and so many others.
Up to 700,000 people are expected to attend. The economic payoff, according to Mayor Moon Landrieu will exceed $150 million.
