Announcing the opening of my artist-in-residence exhibition at the Kinney Center for Interdisciplinary Renaissance Studies at UMass, Amherst.
I will be giving a short talk around 2 PM about my use of rare book archival materials, climate and environmental science, the Renaissance, the Anthropocene, Boyle's Law, the IPCC Report, theatrical body language, information overload, the expulsion from the Garden of Eden, eco-grief, hyperobjects, palimpsests, the emotional vs. the rational mind... and maybe how I managed to learn left-handed brush calligraphy.

In Apocalypse: Science & Myth, painter Suzette Martin offers viewers an allegory of consequences for industrialized humanity’s cumulative, destructive behaviors, by layering data from climate and environmental research with the Biblical tale of banishment from paradise. This exhibit returns to past stories of apocalypse to highlight our current eco-anxieties.
