Fear Eats Itself
Belly of the Beast

Fear Eats Itself
What is the fear
I feel more and more
Eating away at me
Inside down deep
The unsettling
Inching along
Day by day
Relentless unease
Perhaps you too
Much unrest
Nightly sleep
Not what it was
Creeping to the edge
Crab crossing sand
Dragging a groove
Dung beetle
Rolling its ball
Ever to the sun
Scarabs in Egypt
Where Pyramids endure
Markers of time
Ever more eroded
Counting the waves
Edge of oceans
Pounding surf
Gnawing uncertainty
Quoth the Raven, Evermore
Today dear friend
Immense Larry
Girth and mirth
Read your obituary
In the Eagle
Life in too few lines
Instead of flowers
I send you this
