Body Shop

At my age
Life begins at eighty
That used to be
So ancient to me
When my dad died
Before him Nano
Who had one tooth
Our daily struggles
Oh woe is me
Say can you see
Hey Jack be
Not so nimble
Or so quick
Jumping over
Friggin' candle stick
Seeing a specialist
For every body part
That’s the trick
From bones to functions
Can’t even remember
All their names
Who to blame
Ever more insane
Forget stuff
Things getting tough
Book of appointments
Taking a look
This and that
Daily tests
Taken religiously
Ten Our Fathers
Stab for breakfast
Blood sugar
Squeeze an arm
Cuffed for BP
Then to the dentist
Kaching Kaching
My heart stings
Pitter patter, pitter patter
Mind over matter
What do you want
I asked in pain
House or the car
Throw in big TV
Can you explain
With a straight face
Just trying to help
Grin and bear it
One specialist to another
Even me feets
For a toe job
Every few weeks
Nothing really major
Not really fatal
More like a
Pain in the ass
Got a guy for that
Oh so crass
Perhaps a few
Up the old wazoo
Dashing here to there
Over hill and dale
Making up for lost time
Looking for a rhyme
This human misery
Waxing most poetic
One symptom at a time
Weren’t for bad luck
Just wouldn’t
Have none at all
So set em up Joe
Until last call
Got stories to tell
Tween now an hell
Ain’t it a bitch
Real wicked witch
Hey there Doc
About this twitch
